Victor Carnley is fifty-five years old and had been battling kidney failure for over 32 years. He has had three kidney transplants, one that lasted seven years, another that lasted fourteen years and his current transplant. He received this kidney on Feb. 4TH, 2021; unfortunately, he is again in need of a transplant and he needs your help with the out-of-pocket expenses related to transplant.
Victor grew up just north of Bonifay, Florida and he graduated from Bethlehem High School. Victor still lives in the Bonifay area with his wife Laura, and their five children. He worked in farming with his father and for himself, at a chicken plant, and on deep sea fishing boats. His last job was at a machine shop. Kidney disease greatly impacted his ability to work. With a transplant, Victor looks forward to being off dialysis which is very hard on his body, being able to be more active, and enjoying a long life with his family.
Transplantation is lifesaving, but very expensive. Even with insurance, there are many out-of-pocket transplant related expenses such as co-pays and deductibles, doctor visits, and the costly immunosuppressant medications that Victor will have to take for the rest of his life. Victor has an additional challenge of living over 300 miles from the nearest transplant center and insurance doesn’t help with the cost of having to travel and stay near the hospital for testing; he will have temporary relocation expenses to be closer to the hospital after transplant.
To help with the financial burden of Victor’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution.
Thank you in advance for your support whether by making a donation or reposting and sharing this anywhere you can.

I received a new kidney on Feb. 4TH, 2021. " Horseshoe Kidney "
Vic and Laura, I made a small donation, it isn't much, and looking at what you need, that little 30. Isn't anything, but I hope it does help some. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you both.
