Tom Mushe is in desperate need of a kidney transplant! He has been suffering from end-stage-renal-disease, for well over two years. Seven days a week, Tom undergoes a strict regimen of peritoneal dialysis that takes almost eight hours every day. A kidney transplant is Tom’s only hope at resuming a normal life. Transplants are lifesaving, but very expensive. The costs for his transplant are very high, and much more than Tom can handle alone.
Tom is well known for his positive attitude and endless spirit of helping others. He raised six daughters, and now is the proud grandfather to four grandsons. He loves to go fishing, ride freely on his motorcycle and he is an active member of his local church. He enjoys greeting the congregation during Sunday morning service. He uses his guitar talents, by volunteering at a local retirement home. Despite his declining health, Tom wakes up every day and works hard at his full-time job for a transportation company! He is a driver and shipping/receiving clerk over five days per week. He never complains, and has spent his lifetime giving to others. Now it is time to help Tom.
Even with health insurance, Tom is facing very high expenses related to his upcoming transplant.Co-pays, deductibles, doctor visits, travel and temporary relocation expenses, and anti-rejection medications that Tom will need for the rest of his life, are to name a few. Tom will be out of work after his transplant as well, and the costs are expected to exceed $20,000.
To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Tom’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Great Lakes Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your prayers, support and generosity in making Tom’s transplant a success!
Gratefully,
Logan Mramor, Tom’s Grandson

He is surrounded by the love and prayers of his family, and is making progress each day. Tom is blessed and so grateful to have come this far, but he still has a long road to his recovery.
