Junior (Robert) Short suffered both a traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury from an automobile accident February of 2014. He was in a coma for three months with the right side of his body having taken the brunt of the injuries. Junior has had three brain surgeries and a spinal surgery. In time, we were able to move him to a rehabilitation facility in Delaware to be closer to his family but Junior still has a long road ahead. He may need yet another surgery, this time on his right leg with the hope that one day he will be able to walk again.
Junior is no stranger to challenges in his life. He lost his dad when he was only 10 years old also due to an automobile accident. His grandparents raised him. Despite this loss, Junior always had a smile on his face and loved helping other people. Now he needs your help.
There are many expensive necessities for someone who has sustained such extensive injuries but most important right now is to bring Junior home to be with his family. An addition on his Aunt Lynda’s mobile home will make that possible. A modified wheelchair accessible vehicle is essential to more easily transport him, in particular to his doctor appointments. Insurance does not cover such necessities and they are costly.
To help with the financial burden of Junior’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Mid-Atlantic Traumatic Brain Injury Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for injury-related expenses only. Please consider a tax deductible contribution.

Thank you so much for helping. Keep an eye on the website because we will be planning some fundraising events soon.
Gratefully,
Lynda Allison (Junior’s aunt)

Junior is getting casts on both legs on Monday. Hope this will help him to walk again. Need prayers!
I am trying to get help with building an addition with a shower stall in it so that I can bring Robert home.
