Juan Medina is a 64 year-old man who is in desperate need of a lung transplant! Juan was diagnosed with emphysema and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and has been struggling to breathe ever since. He requires full time oxygen and a ventilator during the night, as his condition has dramatically worsened over the years. Juan undergoes a rigorous schedule of pulmonary rehabilitation and testing, and he hopes to soon be listed for a lung transplant at the University of Colorado Hospital. Transplants are lifesaving, but the costs are more than Juan can handle alone.
Before his diagnosis with lung disease, Juan worked hard as a head mechanic at Major Auto. He enjoyed teaching children in the neighborhood about the mechanic trade, and his hope is to resume his career and become an active member of the community once again. Juan has selflessly helped others his whole life; now it is time to help Juan!
