GOOD NEWS UPDATE:
As some of you already know, I received my Gift of Life, my heart transplant! I am on the road to recovery and feeling good about life in general. However, now more than ever, fundraising is essential to this new life -- the anti-rejection medications that I need to take for the rest of my life carry enormous co-pays that I cannot handle without the help of the community. Thank you in advance for your continued support.
I just want to take a moment and thank all the people that came out to support Honey and I at our benefit. A special thanks to Eric who put this all together and who was responsible for collecting so many donations and getting so many people to come out for the benefit. Also special thanks to Bucket, Kristen, Bobbi who all pitched in so much to make it all turn out so great. Thanks to Pete and Judy for coming out with the corvette club and everyone else who attended.
So I got back from Jacksonville today and the Drs at Mayo Clinic say I am doing ok with my heart pump. There is one person ahead of me and he is listed as a 1a transplant so he will be transplanted next and as soon as he is transplanted then I will move up to a 1a. As soon as that happens honey and I will have to relocate to Jacksonville and live there while I wait for a heart, it could be a week or a year but as long as I'm listed I have to be within 2 hrs of Mayo. I want to take this time to thank everyone who has helped us thru donations or by helping to organize our fundraisers and just being there as our friends. I can not begin to describe how hard this has all been both physically and emotionally on both Honey and I. Honey has had to care for me constantly by herself and I can't even imagine what it felt like being in a room for 9 hrs during my LVAD surgery especially after being told I most likely wouldn't make it. So when I say I wouldn't be here without her I mean it. I just wanted to take this time to thank her as well and tell her I love her and how much she means to me. Also let me thank God most of all(and all you people that knew me before should know one thing, no matter how bad I was I always believed in God). Probably why he has let me live so long. So again I really want to thank God, Honey and every one who has been there for us, as scared as I am sometimes I just think of all the people who have helped pull me thru this and I calm down and smile, cause the best is yet to come. Playing with my Grandson C.J. and my puppies and being able to ride my motorcycle with Honey on the back and just living life in general. Thank you all and God bless everyone.
So my fundraiser in Orange Beach is really starting to come together and it's going to be awesome. It will include a poker run for bikers and car's and will behave a get the tin man a heart theme. some great friends working hard to put this together and I want to say thanks to Eric.Robin,Bucket and everyone else who is involved. It will be on Jan17,2015
I want to take a moment and thank everyone who has helped Honey and I in our time of need. All donations will be used to help cover expenses that we accrue while both waiting for my heart transplant and after I receive it. Until I move up on the Transplant list we have to go back and forth to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville once a month and as soon as I get listed as a 1a we will have to relocate to Jacksonville while waiting for my heart transplant and we will have to pay bills in 2 places. We are very lucky to have so many good friends that have helped us out with both donations and their time by helping to put together fundraisers to get the word out. Anything that anyone can do to help out will be very much appreciated.
Thank you all so much
and God bless you
