My father, Fred Gordon is in need of a life-saving kidney transplant. Three years ago, Fred was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure and is now dependent on dialysis to stay alive. His doctors at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida have told us that a transplant is his only option to return to good health.
Fred is a loving husband, father, brother and good friend to many. He was a truck driver for over 20 years but unfortunately is no longer able to work or do many things he always has enjoyed. He looks forward to returning to work, becoming active in his church again and spend time fishing. Everyone who knows him adores him and he is always there to help someone in need. Now he needs your help.
Transplants are life-saving but very expensive. Even with insurance there are many expenses that are not covered and must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles and he will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications for the rest of his life. This puts our family up against a challenge we cannot meet alone and need your support.
Family and friends of Fred Gordon are raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
We have chosen to fundraise with HelpHOPELive in part because HelpHOPELive assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Donate Now button.
