My daughter is a sweet and precious young Navajo Indian who lives with her family in Tucson, AZ. Tavia is now on dialysis and goes to Fresenius dialysis treatment three times a week in addition to seeing her doctor on a regular basis.
A transplant will be life-saving but very costly. Even with insurance there will be many uninsured transplant-related expenses such as: transportation to and from weekly dialysis appointments ($4,160 a year), co-pays and deductibles (20% of all medical bills), doctor visits ($750 a year), and the costly anti-rejection medications that she will need to take for the rest of her life. This is a financial burden that our family cannot meet alone.
To help with these uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in Tavia’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southwest Kidney/Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a donation today and click the DONATE NOW button.
On behalf of the family, I am requesting that you please pray for Tavia and that you support her with a contribution to what I hope will be a successful fundraising campaign. Time is of an essence. Keep an eye on this campaign page because she will be planning some fundraising events soon and posting updates regularly.
With much gratitude,
George L Martinez, Latavia’s father
