Janice Meagley is only 51-years old, and she is in desperate need of a kidney transplant. She has been suffering from a chronic medical condition called “IGA Nephropathy”; a disease that damages the kidneys from abnormal protein deposits in the glomeruli. Janice has started a strict regimen of dialysis, and in order to survive, she must undergo a kidney transplant. Janice is working with Barnes Jewish Hospital, and is listed through them for her transplant surgery.

On a personal level, Janice has a large family and loves to spend time with her grandchildren. Despite her illness, she works hard at her job in a Nursing Home and goes to work each and every day. She loves to garden, spend time with her pets, and she remains optimistic despite her kidneys not functioning properly. Janice has spent her whole life taking care of others – now it is time to help Janice!

Janice is now a year and a half post transplant and just celebrated her 2nd christmas with her family! She is doing great, back at work and a whole new person! We are forever grateful to the family who thought of Janice during their own tragic time and they are in our thoughts and prayers always. Janice continues to see the doctors and run tests to make sure she stays on top of everything but so far, so good. Thank you to all for their support and understanding during this very busy time of our life and for the ability to give Janice a second chance. A lot has happened over the last year and a half and Janice couldn't be more grateful for her support team and those who love her. She is blessed to be able to see her daughter get married, her grandchildren grow, visit with friends and family, and was even able to make a long trip to say goodbye to a loved one all thanks to the wonderful people who have helped along the way and the one special angel whos life lives on in her!

Janice has received a new kidney! Everything is looking good so far, numbers are where they should be and she is recovering well. Due to this she will now have to make frequent trips back to the hospital for clinic dates for awhile and then once a year after that, but it is a small price to pay for what she has been given. Thanks to all those that have helped along the way and continue to help now and in the future!
