As some of you may know, in 2004 I was diagnosed with a rare lung disease called, Pulmonary LangerHans Cell Histiocytosis. Now, at 61 years old, my doctors have told me that my only chance of survival is a double-lung transplant.

I am a resident of Vergennes, Vermont; the proud mother of two children and the partner of a supportive and loving man. I grew up in Burlington and graduated from Burlington High School in 1974. It was my pleasure to work in the kitchen at BF Goodrich for 20 years, serving my peers with healthy meals.

A double-lung transplant will be life-saving for me, but financially draining. Even with insurance, I will have very high out-of-pocket expenses, including travel and relocation to the transplant center, doctor visits, and the costly anti-rejection medications I will have to take for the rest of my life.

We have such a long way to go, mom has had one set back so far, requiring steroid tapper and Antibiotics. She is working on gaining wt with a registered dietician, and is working with her local pulmonary clinic for pulmonary rehab. I'm asking for everyone support in reaching her financial goal. My mom feels like know one cares about her as there have been no donations directly to the site, the money we have collected have mostly been from cans. I used money of my own for our last trip to Boston, so moms funds wouldn't be depleted. So please share and support my moms lung fund. ❤

While we don’t know each other personally I do remember seeing you at BHS. I was class of ‘75. I do care. I hope this helps a little and that more people will step up, do the right thing and donate. All my best, happy birthday and many more!
