Marylou McDaniel needs a kidney transplant, and she desperately needs your help to make it happen. Marylou has been battling type-1 insulin dependent diabetes for almost 15 years. As a result, her kidneys have started to fail, and a kidney transplant is her only hope for survival. Transplants are lifesaving, but the costs are more than Marylou and her loving family can handle alone.
Over three days per week, Marylou undergoes a strict regimen of dialysis, which costs her over $1000 per month. She has recently been approved for her transplant at the University of Virginia, but her surgery is on hold until she raises over $15,000. Even with health insurance, co-pays, deductibles, travel fees, relocation expenses, and anti-rejection medications that Marylou will need for the rest of her life, continue to add up and are expected to costs thousands of dollars.
