Just a few days before finals, while studying at California State University in Sacramento, Morgan Ott fell more than 20 feet while on scaffolding that collapsed beneath her. The fall left her with C7 spinal cord injury and paralyzed from her chest down.
Morgan is a strong, vibrant and charismatic young woman; who before her accident was driven to actively make the most of life. She attended school, worked at the Sac State Aquatic Center and was passionately involved in her sorority. Fighting to keep her active lifestyle, my niece has now directed all of her energy into her recovery. After a month of rehabilitation in Vallejo, CA she proved to her therapist she had the motivation and strength to live as independently as possible.
With the help of friends and family Morgan attends intense physical therapy multiple times a week. Unfortunately, her insurance does not cover this rehab nor any equipment associated with this therapy that she might need. Morgan wants to continue this out-patient therapy in the hopes that she will one day be able to walk again. She would also like to purchase a Galileo tilt table which would help her rejuvenate some of her lost muscle function. These and other anticipated uninsured expenses have led Morgan to enlist the help of others through a fundraising campaign.
To help with the financial burden of Morgan’s uninsured expenses, a
fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southwest Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for injury-related expenses only. Please consider masking a donation today and click the DONATE NOW button.
Our family greatly appreciates any help or support that you can offer.
Sincerely,
Kathi Miller
