For most of my life I have been battling kidney disease; for the last 18 years, I have been on dialysis. Now, at 43 years of age, I have finally been put on the kidney transplant list. I am looking forward to life without dialysis. Before I can get a transplant, I have a few things to take care of including dental work to prevent infection once I get my transplant.
Transplants are lifesaving but financially draining. Even with insurance, I will have out of pocket medical expenses including travel back and forth to the hospital, temporary relocation expenses for myself and my caregiver to be closer to the hospital around the time of transplant. The biggest expense will be for the very expensive anti-rejection medications that I will have to take for the rest of my life.

My event on January 9, Give a Life JAM turned out great. Everyone had a good time. We ended up in the newshttp://www.mynews13.com/content/news/cfnews13/news/article.html/content/news/articles/cfn/2016/1/9/st_cloud_community_r.html and we got a part in our local paper http://www.aroundosceola.com/give-a-life-jam-to-help-st-cloud-woman-raise-funds-for-transplant/ we was also mentioned on the radio. Thanks to HelpHopeLive. Im encouraged to continue to raise money and fight for my Life. If you can donate anything at all. I would greatly appreciate it.

4 more days till the Silent Auction I have been working on since September. I have been amazed how generous the town I live in. I have a radio personality Jeff Howell and Jeremy Wayne Ewbank a Elvis impersonator for entertainment. It’s going to be great. At this point I have gotten a clearance from my cardiologist and gastrologist. I’m going to my pulmonary doctor tomorrow, hopefully good news from him. At the end of the month of January I hope to be on the list. I’m so excited. New year with new beginnings.
