Becky Davis Best is a 63-year-old beautician and native of Tarboro, N.C. who suffers from breathing problems caused by a rare lung disease, Pulmonary Fibrosis. Becky finds it increasingly difficult to breath even with the assistance of oxygen 24-hours-a-day. Her doctors at Duke University Medical Center have informed her that her only real chance at survival is to have a double-lung transplant.

Becky is known and loved by many. She is the wife of Denny Best, an employee of Southern States Cooperative for 24 years. They have two grown children, a son and daughter, and Becky is “Nina” to three young grandsons. She worked as a beautician at a local nursing center for 20 years until her health forced her to retire. Everyone there enjoyed her cheerful disposition and patience as she “beautified” and lifted the spirits of the elderly, the disabled and those with dementia.

My husband recently passed away with pulmonary fibrosis. He had the fast moving kind and didnt ever make it to the lung transplant stage. I hope you have lots of luck with your lung transplant. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
