Wayne grew up in Milpitas, California, has been my loving husband for 24 years and is a wonderful father to our 2 daughters and recently has been blessed with his first grandchild. He is a sound and communication technician and a good friend to many. Unfortunately, due to his poor health, Wayne is no longer able to work or do many things he has always been able to do. He is eagerly looking forward to returning to work, living a productive life and being an active part of our children and grandchildren’s lives.
A transplant is life-saving and also very expensive. Even with insurance there are many expenses that must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, lab fees, travel to and from the transplant center and we will need to relocate to be close to Stanford University Medical Center as we await the call that a heart has become available and for a few months after the transplant so Wayne can be close to the medical center. In addition, Wayne will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications. This is where your help is desperately needed.
A fundraising campaign in Wayne’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trust nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.
On behalf of Wayne and our family, thank you for your kindness, generosity, support and prayers. Keep an eye on this campaign page because we will be planning some fundraising events soon.

I have placed your husbands profile on my timeline on Facebook. For personal reasons I pray for you and Wayne to receive the Heart that he needs. Please go to my facebook account and look at the picture. You will understand. I really hope that maybe somehow my post will in some way or another help you and your family. Sincerely
Cindy DeGroot
Best of luck, my thoughts are with you.

Hello family friends and community this is Waynes wife, I want to thank each and everyone of you for all your prayers and donations. Wayne was able to walk today from his bed to a bed side chair for the first time since his LVAD surgery. It's a big accomplishment for him on his journey to recovery. He has been in the hospital since late November and is working hard to get back to himself. He sends love and thank yous to you all.
