Christian is a 27 year-old who recently married Hannah Roger, now Dickey, in May of 2023.
Christian is a Master Electrician who works independently in the central Maine area.
Christian became very sick at the age of 12 and has been struggling with various liver complications due to a diagnosis of stage four liver cirrhosis from Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC). In 2016 It was determined by doctors in Maine that he should become part of the liver transplant program at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, Massachusetts in order to prepare for a liver transplant, which was not available in Maine.
Christian grew up in the Richmond area as part of an extensive family who has lived in this area and the surrounding towns for generations. His family has been involved with every part of the community that helped Christian become the wonderful young man he is today. The care, love and prayers from this community, from his family, his wife Hannah and committed friends have helped him thrive through the worst days of his illness. Throughout Christian’s life and illness he has remained incredibly optimistic and strong, never giving up hope that there will be a cure and a miracle. He has surpassed the expectations and timeframes doctors have given him and beaten all the odds.
However, his medical bills are astronomical combined with surgery costs and the impending transplant-related expenses. Your help can make a difference. Family and friends of Christian Dickey are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Christian has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.

Thank you for your support!
We are waiting for the final transplant date scheduled for May 2016. We are hoping to reach the $40,000 mark, only $655 to go. Way to go friends and family! Please leave Christian an encouraging message to read before his transplant. Thank you, Karyn
Landon Hixon has completed all Live liver donor testing at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington Massachusetts and has been excepted as Christian's liver donor. We are now waiting for transplant review and a date for the procedure. The review should take place on August 11th.
Please see new Fundraiser event, "See a Movie, Save a Life". Order tickets now-all proceeds go directly to Christian's Liver Transplant.

Christian, since day 1 you've been a true blessing in my life; I never have and never will meet anyone quite as unique as you are. You have the kindest, most gentle, demeanor about you, that even something so serious can't turn cold. I'm so incredibly proud of you for staying so strong and happy through all of this, and I wish I could've been there for you more than I was. I hope you continue to stay positive and motivated through the next stage of your life. Know that you'll continue to stay in my closest thoughts and prayers. (Psalm 41:2-3)
Love always,
Chelsea

Hi- I knew your great-great grandparents, the Nelsons. Jay worked at RHS when I was a student. He was also a musical genius. When I acquired a beat-up E-flat alto horn, Jay taught me to play for the RHS band. He did it out of the kindness of his heart, and wouldn't accept any money for the lessons. That was the start of a lifelong friendship. The love of music he shared saw me through many hard times. I believe that you will come through these hardships, and someday in the distant future an old friend will be telling your great-great grandkids stories of your wonderful friendship too. Rock on-
Carolyn
Hi Christian,
I am the new President of UMM and I hear that you are a strong and wonderful person. You are in everyone's thoughts at UMM, and we are sending you positive energy that you will receive a transplant soon.

Your strength has motivated me in hard times and let me see life through different eyes. I know it gets rough for you sometimes and I see it even when you try and hide it so we (Your family and friends) don't get upset. Through these rough times you're always smiling and helping others. When we were younger you were my best friend. You used to beg me to play video games with you and I never wanted to but I did anyway because you were fun to hangout with and you made me laugh. You're a great big brother and I love you. Thanks for always being there for me.

Since the first few moments you were born we have faced battles together. Many times people told us that things were hopeless for you. I've always believed different because I've always believe in you. We are facing another battle together now and that's the key, together. Many people are cheering you on now, lifting you up to reach your goal. You're making it Christian, let you story be a lesson to them all. You are a miracle and your life is a lesson to us all.

I think of you daily, and I'm praying for you. Don't give up the fight. You've got this.

One year ago, I went to Richmond High as an exchange student, and I got the great honor to meet this wonderful, stupendous guy whom I have certainly not forgotten about, because he never stopped smiling. I never knew of his disease, what I can still remember till this very day is when I once made a joke about giving candy to get a kiss, and he said, facetiously of course, "I'd kiss Omar for candy." It is with great sadness that I read the description of your condition, Christian. I really believe that you can get through with this. I deeply wish I could help you financially but unfortunately all I have to offer for the moment is this silly memory and these few words of love and encouragement, and I can also share this with friends and family. Stay strong, never give up, and remember: No matter what, good things happen to good people. Prayers sent all the way from Africa ;)
Omar Alaoui.
You mean the world to me, sweet boy! I love you so much! I'm proud of you & your incredible strength.

Dear Chich. Not even sure where to begin. It's hard to capture 18 years worth of amazing-ness. I have learned so many things from you. I never new a love so deep as a mother's love for her son than the example of you and your mom. At a young age I had the opportunity to understand and witness this unwavering devotion and love for another. Sometimes they say when you have a child it's as if your heart lives outside your body. My heart began to live outside my body the day you were born. Through you, I was able to witness what caring and loving grandparents my children would have. Your smile and your eye so full of adventure. Seizing every moment to live your life. Your calm and quiet demeanor has taught we about patience, resiliency, and courage. You have my heart and my love forever. We pray every day that you suck the marrow from life. Seize the day and live life to the fullest. Enjoy the ride and always remember, “I carry your heart with me (I carry it in
my heart) I am never without it (anywhere
I go you go, my dear …” EE Cummings
