HELP US HELP OUR MOM LIVE ON

Tunya is a mother, sister, daughter, pastor, friend and champion. She doesn’t look like a woman with such a serious illness but she is in desperate need of a heart transplant. She has been battling with heart disease for over 15 years, surviving 4 heart attacks and 2 strokes. Tunya always seems to have an encouraging word for someone else and now she needs some encouragement from us. Even when she is feeling her worse, one of the things you can always hear her say is, ‘if my eyes open – it is still a good day.” Sometimes we can see her fighting just to do everyday tasks that we take for granted like cooking, showering, getting dressed, even doing her hair. But she does it without complaining because she always tells us that ‘it could be worse.’

Tunya’s continuing her education while waiting for the transplant. She is currently enrolled at Drexel University taking online classes to pursue an MHA (Master’s in Health Administration). She has been unemployable outside of the home during this entire process, so she started finding jobs that allowed her to work from home but frequent hospitalizations hindered that. She is working to become ‘marketable’ again in the workforce when the transplant is done and she has healed. Help us help her get a new lease on life and look at the fact that she still has a lot of life left to live.
