My husband, Allen Hudson was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease in 2008. Within the last two years, Allen’s health has declined rapidly, he is on dialysis every night and his doctors have told us that his only option is a life-saving kidney transplant.
Allen is a loving husband, wonderful father to Mary-Beth and Victoria and good friend to so many. He is always there to help others whether it is in his life of service as a member of North Charleston Baptist Church; or as a friend to so many in times of need. He has served overseas in the US Army and was a member of the National Guard. Unfortunately, due to his poor health, Allen is no longer able to work or do many things he has always enjoyed.
After many years of being a blessing to others, it is our chance to be a blessing to Allen. A transplant is life-saving and also very expensive. Even with insurance, there are many expenses that must be covered out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, and travel to and from the transplant center and relocation expenses at the time of transplant. In addition, Allen will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications.
To help with the financial burden of Allen’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted non- profit organization providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Mid-Atlantic Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses. Please consider a contribution.
Allen’s greatest joy is to glorify God with the life he has been given. Allen knows that this is but a part of the journey that the Lord has laid out for him and is excited for what the future holds.
With sincere gratitude,
Dorinda Hudson

We are Praising God!
On April 8, 2017, Allen received his new kidney at Ohio State University Medical Center.
Everything is going well.
We are still raising funds due to some financial changes.
The American Kidney foundation has now pulled out and no longer helps us with Allen's medical insurance, which is an added expense.
Allen will also be on antirejection medications that are very expensive for the rest of his life so we are continuing this fund to help offset the deductibles in the near future.
We also need to travel back and forth to Ohio for appointments and such.
Thank you all for your continued support.
If you would like to help us with any fundraisers or anything please contact us.

My amazing husband had his 47th birthday. We received a call from OSU for a kidney unfortunately my husband was very ill and we had to pass. I know that God is working out all the perfect details for my husband. I pray it will be soon to receive the gift of life.(a new kidney)
Thank you all for your support,
Dorinda & Mary-Beth Hudson
We have had a few set backs the last couple months. Thank you all for the prayers. God has held our hand through this and now Al is back active on both Transplant lists again.
Praising God...
Now that his health is better we can concentrate on fundraising and building this fund so when he gets a transplant we will have less stressors of finances.
Allen is having both kidneys removed at the Cleveland Clinic on April 14, 2016. His kidneys have gotten so big there is no room for a transplanted kidney. At this time we are on hold on the transplant list, he can go back active as soon as these kidneys are removed and healed up.
