Tim Mullins is a 62 year old man who is in need of a liver transplant. After struggling with primary biliary cirrhosis (an auto immune disease that attacked his liver) since 2006, his condition has now worsened to the point where a transplant is his only hope. Tim is one of the nicest people you would want to meet and he needs our help.
Tim has been married to the love of his life, Peggy, for 35 years. They have two children, Michael and Steven. Tim worked as a locomotive engineer for the railroad for many years. He loved his job, but his illness him forced him to take an early retirement at the age of 57. Tim and his family and friends are committed to seeing him through this transplant and seeing him happy and healthy again!
Transplants are life-saving but financially draining. Even with insurance coverage, Tim is facing huge expenses including travel and hotel costs to be close to the Lahey Clinic once discharged, post-transplant anti-rejection medications of up to thousands of dollars a month, co-pays, deductibles, and more.
Tim has chosen to fundraise with HelpHOPELive in part because HelpHOPELive assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Donate Now button.
