Some of you know my daughter Emily Spaulding has been suffering from end stage renal failure over eight years. For the past three years, she has been on dialysis. Her doctors at the Indiana University Medical Center have told us that she is in need of a life-saving kidney transplant.
Emily is 33 years old and has been married to her loving husband Matt for 14 years. They live in South Bend and have a great love of animals and their two dogs Romeo and Onya. Emily is no longer able to work or do many things we take for granted. Once she receives a transplant and she is healthy again, they look forward to having children as soon as possible. We are all committed to seeing her thru this process.
Transplants are life-saving and also financially draining. Even with insurance there are many expenses that must be covered out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, travel back and forth to the transplant center and relocation expenses at the time of transplant. In addition, Emily will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications. This puts our family up against a challenge we cannot meet alone and desperately need your help.
A fundraising campaign in Emily’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Great Lakes Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution.
On behalf of Emily, Matt and our family, thank you in advance for your kindness, generosity, support and prayers.
