Dear Friends, Family and Community:
My wife, Arnetta Wright is very ill. After years of struggling with polycystic liver and kidney disease, we were told by her doctors at Methodist Dallas Medical Center that she needed a life-saving liver transplant. On September 15, 2015, Arnetta received a Liver Transplant and she’s currently battling acute liver rejection. Please donate today.
Arnetta, who is a loving and caring wife, mother of four, and grandmother is the kindest person you’d ever hope to meet. Arnetta grew up in Houston and graduated from Ross Sterling High School. She went on to the University of Texas at Arlington where she studied English, then Texas Woman’s University where she earned her MBA.
After spending years in the corporate world, Arnetta suffered a spinal cord injury that forced her to take a leave of absence. Just as things were beginning to look up, she was given the devastating news that she needs a liver transplant. Arnetta is eagerly looking forward to returning to work and helping others. After many years of helping others, Arnetta is now the one who needs your help. Transplants are life-saving but financially draining. Even with insurance, there are many expenses that must be covered out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, lab fees and transportation to and from the hospital. In addition, Arnetta will be on a life-time of expensive anti-rejection medications. This is where your help is desperately needed.
A fundraising campaign in Arnetta’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Central Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only.

On behalf of Arnetta, myself and our family, thank you for your kindness, generosity, support and prayers.

Thank you for your support!
Truly blessed! My Liver Transplant allowed us to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary with our family and friends on July 2, 2016, witness the birth of two more beautiful grandbabies, experience the joy of watching our youngest son graduate from high school and enter college, support our daughter while she competes in swimming all year round, care for my elderly mother each day, celebrate our oldest sons accomplishments, and praise God every day. Despite continuing to fight complications and infections, every day is a gift from God and I’m truly thankful!
Thank you for your support, prayers, love, and donations, Arnetta
Doing great! Four months out from my liver transplant and no signs of rejection this month. Praise God!
Spoke to my Transplant Coordinator late this evening, numbers look good, no signs of rejection. However, one of the liver's enzymes is high but they're recheck it on Monday. For now, they're going to keep me on the high level of Prograf. Just coping with all side effects from the medicines: trimmers, horrible pain, thrush, weakness, and head aches, which is nothing compared to what I've been through. God is so amazing and I'm just pushing through it. Can't wait to get all this behind me.
Trusting and putting all my faith in God. Today, we met with the doctor and the 10 hours per day for 10 days Thymoglobulin treatment worked, my immune system is no longer attacking my new liver. And I'm still showing ZERO signs of rejection. All labs are NORMAL. Praise God!
God is a Miracle Worker. Today's test results shows ZERO sign of rejection and all numbers are normal. The new immune system is starting to work. Praise God!
On September 15, 2015, Arnetta received a Liver Transplant and she's currently battling acute liver rejection. Please donate today to help us reach our goal and keep us in your prayers.
Praise God. Arnetta is heading home today. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
Arnetta is still hospitalized and under went a liver biopsy this evening. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
Dispite the doctor's bad report today, Arnetta is still fighting, knowing that God is in total control and she's claiming the victory. Keep us lifted in prayer.
Yesterday, Arnetta went into Afib and was rushed to ICU where doctor's worked to get her heart to start back beating normal with the use medication. Praise God, today she's awake and talking. Continue to lift us up in prayer.
Arnetta has been rushed to ICU. Her heart became irregular and weak. They're monitoring her closely.
Arnetta is responding to the new treatment. Today, she'll undergo a 10 hour injection that will take all day. Please continue to pray for the family.
The doctor called today, Arnetta's labs are worst and they re-admitted her to the hospital todaty to start the new treatment for rejection. Continue to keep us in your prayers.
Today, doctors informed us the new drug treatment did not work. And Arnetta's rejection numbers have worsened. The next step will be a biopsy on Wednesday morning.
Back at the hospital for my weekly lab work to see if the rejection treatment is working. Praying for improvement.
Arnetta was released from the hospital and she's rest at home. Continue to keep us in your prayers as the doctors treat her for rejection.
Arnetta completed another treatment early this morning. However, at this time she is not responding to treatment and she's scheduled for another biopsy on Monday morning. She's keeping a positive attitude.
2nd biopsy confirmed the rejection levels are slowly coming down. She completed another treatment today, which left her a little weak and she's resting.
Arnetta completed her 2nd treatment yesterday, which was very painful. This morning, she's having a 2nd liver biopsy and surgeons will determine the next course of treatment. She's a fighter and she's still smiling through the tears.
Per the surgeon, yesterday's biopsy revealed Arnetta's rejection level is a 7, which is moderate on scale of 0 to 10. So, they are going to treat her with 2 more rounds of steroids today and tomorrow. Right now, they are trying to knock out her immune system so it will stop attacking the new organ. She's in good spirits and still smiling, despite today's painful treatment.
Today, doctor's determined that Arnetta had to be re-admitted to the hospital due to some complications. She under went a liver biopsy and we will have the results in a couple of days. At this time, she's undergoing high level of steroid treatments for the next couple of days. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
Arnetta is back in the hospital. Please keep us in your prayers.
We met with the surgeon this morning and Arnetta's liver enzymes numbers don't look good, showing signs of rejection. They are sending her for an emergency scan. We will know more by end of day today.
Thank you for all the prayers and continue support. Arnetta is resting at home and she's still struggling with a lot of pain. At this time, she's unable to have visitors due to her weaken immune system.
Great news, Arnetta is heading home today!
Please click the "Donate Now" button and help cover her medical bills. Your generous contribution will go to caring for Arnetta. Please make a donation.
This evening's ultrasound revealed some bleeding from the main blood flow to the liver. The committee of surgeons are scheduled to meet in the morning to discuss a new action plan.
Another blessed day. Arnetta will not be released today but she's resting well. Thank you to everyone who have blessed our family with your prayers, time, food, flowers, calls, and visits. Arnetta's very grateful for our awesome doctor's, and nurses for letting God use them as vessels during the surgery.
Heartfelt gratefulness.
Last night was rough due to pain and Arnetta didn't get a lot of rest. Today, she's resting. Keep us in your prayers.
Arnetta is scheduled to be released on Monday. The doctor said her numbers look good and she's healing fast. We still have a long ways to go but she's determined. Thank you for all your prayers and support.
Today was a really good for Arnetta. The doctor's had her up and walk. She's still struggling with the pain but she's a fighter. After her liver transplant on Tuesday morning, doctor's stated that she suffered mild heart attack but everything is good and she might be heading home on Monday.
We got the call this evening. Arnetta's surgery for a liver transplant is scheduled in the morning at 5am. Keep us in your prayers.
