Matthew Titus is a 46-year-old man who was very ill. After years of struggling with an auto-immune disease a kidney transplant was his only hope for a normal life free from dialysis. On March 8th 2015 Matthew received his new kidney! The surgery went very well and Matthew is currently in recovery.
Matthew is one of the kindest people you’d ever hope to meet and he needs our help. The cost of a transplant can be overwhelming.
Matthew grew up in Madras, OR and graduated from Madras High School. He went on to Mt. Hood Community College where he studied music and sang in their jazz choir under a tuition waiver for voice. He then attended George Fox University for a year. When Matthew returned to Central Oregon he began his career in Radio and, after 8 years of on air experience, he decided to try his hand behind the scenes. He moved to Tempe, AZ to attend The Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences to become a recording and live sound engineer.
After nearly 12 years of marriage, Matthew and Melissa are committed to seeing him through to a full recovery. Transplants are life-saving but financially draining. Even with insurance, Matthew continues to face mounting expenses including his relocation for 6 weeks to be closer to Swedish Hospital in Seattle, post-transplant medications of up to $1,200 a month, insurance premiums, co-pays, lab fees and more. Matthew needs our help.
To help with the financial burden of Matthew’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Northwest Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.

Quick update for everyone, my labs continue to be great...moved to monthly visits with my transplant team!
Biggest and greatest news of all, I went back to work after my forced retirement of kidney failure and dialysis.

Dear Friends,
On Saturday March 7th at 11:30pm...we got the call we were waiting for!
Swedish Medical in Seattle with a possible kidney!
We drove all night and late Sunday morning I was under the knife.
Dr. Hart the operating surgeon told me it was a great specimen.
It is very humbling to realize that in order for me to live...someone had to die.
I am very thankful and I pray for the family who lost a loved one.
My labs are really good and I will be in Seattle for a few weeks for monitoring and doctor visits.
I appreciate all the prayers...
