Dad is the loving husband of Beth Conner, a wonderful father and stepfather, grandfather to six and good friend to many. Dad has always lived in Black Mountain, graduated from Charles D. Owen High School, served for 24 years full time as a fireman for The Black Mountain Fire Department, and volunteered and worked part time at other fire departments. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Swannanoa. Due to his declining health, he is no longer able to work or do many things he has always done. Dad is one of the most gracious people you will ever meet and once he receives his transplant, he looks forward to becoming an active member of his church and community again.
A liver transplant is life-saving but financially draining for any family. Even with insurance, Dad is facing very high expenses including travel to and from the transplant center, relocation to Chapel Hill for weeks after the transplant to be closer to the hospital, co-pays, deductibles, lab fees and he will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications.
To help with the financial burden of Dad’s uninsured transplant related expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Liver Transplant Fund and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution. Just click on the Donate Now button on this page to make a donation.
On behalf of Dad and our family, thank you for your love, prayers, support and generosity. Keep an eye on the website because we will be planning some fundraising events soon.
Gratefully,
MaryBeth Wright

Daddy is on his way to Chapel Hill today for some test! He hasn't been feeling well and is having a few problems. But he is #1 on the list for his blood type!! So we need prayers now more than ever!! Thanks to everyone that has helped and prayed so far!!!
We had our first "the call" that there was a liver waiting for us in Chapel Hill on Monday, April 27th... But no sooner than we got to the car they called back and the liver was no good... This was a little sad, but it gave us hope that Daddy is going to get a new liver! Hopefully we will be getting another one of those phone calls soon!! Please come and join us on Thursday, May 14th at the Texas Roadhouse... Bring your flyer or mention that you are there for Junior Conner so 10% of your bill will go to Daddy's medical bills!
Junior, you are my best friend, my soul mate and a wonderful husband and father. You are not alone thru this struggle. First of all and most important you have God in you heart. Friends and family that love you very much. I feel as tho I have a private line to pray to God for you! I love you Honey.
