Susan Wood has spent her life helping others and serving God — now she needs our help as she awaits a lifesaving lung transplant! In 2003, Susan was diagnosed with COPD; a progressive disease of the lungs that makes it hard to breathe and causes shortness of breath, chest tightness and other difficult symptoms. COPD has changed Susan’s life dramatically. She has been on continuous oxygen 24/7 and was forced to retire over 6 years ago due to her health. More than ever, Susan is looking forward to breathing on her own, walking on the beach, and spending more time with her husband, family and especially her four grandchildren.

Susan and her husband Ron have been married for 47 years. Together they are having an impact for the Lord through their church and serving others. Along with their caring family and many amazing friends, they are committed to getting through Susan’s lung transplant together. But the road ahead will not be easy, and that’s where Susan needs your help, prayers, and financial support.

July 21, 2016 after 5 months, 3 weeks (176 days) in the hospital, Susan is finally HOME!!! It will take a few days to get adjusted to the change. No more calling on the nurses to help out. It is great to see her breathing on her own with NO SUPPLEMENTAL OXYGEN. She’s giving those new lungs a workout. Please continue to pray for Susan as she gets her strength back. She will be going to respiratory rehab almost every day for about one month and to clinic once a week for about a month.

Well, here we are almost five months post lung transplant surgery and Susan is still in the hospital. She has had so many ups and downs. It’s like 2 steps forward, 1 step back. Still no time frame as to when we can bring her home. The doctor keeps saying the lungs look good but all these other issues keep popping up. Please keep Susan in your prayers
