Donald Rudy Marlow (Rudy) is a 65-year-old man who suffered from cirrhosis for many years. His health had deteriorated such that doctors at Vanderbilt determined a liver transplant would be his best chance for survival! It was such a difficult time for all of us. Since starting this campaign, we have wonderful news to share. Rudy received his Gift of Life- a new liver- on March 27th. Praise God!! While this is such a blessing, Rudy, one of the kindest people you’d ever hope to meet, needs our help, because the cost of a transplant is overwhelming.
Rudy grew up in Habersham, Tennessee and takes great pride in his Mountain upbringing and heritage. Rudy is a very family oriented man who loves his siblings, children and grandchildren. He loves life in general and makes many people laugh even through sickness. He eagerly looks forward to returning to his normal life which includes visiting with his children in Florida and his grandchildren in Florida and Virginia. Together, Rudy and his family are committed to seeing him through this transplant journey.
Transplants are life-saving but financially draining. Even with insurance, Rudy is facing very high expenses including relocating for 6 weeks to be closer to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, post-transplant medications of up to $1,200 a month and co-pays, lab fees, and more.
To help with the financial burden of Rudy’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.

Thank you for your prayers, support and generosity. Keep an eye on the website because we will be planning some fundraising events soon.
Gratefully,
Eva Sue Marlow, Rudy’s sister
