Javier Gil, a 49-year-old man has endured many health complications and needs our support to continue receiving the help he needs. Recently, Javier has received a heart transplant. Due to the effects of the organ rejection medication for this transplant, his kidneys started to fail. He now needs a kidney transplant for his survival.
Javier grew up in southeastern Idaho where he met the love of his life for 25 years. She passed away in August 2006 from liver cancer. Javier has four stepchildren who he adores. He also has four grandchildren who bring him much joy and happiness. He would love to gain more energy from this transplant to be able to spend more time with his family and loved ones.
Transplants are lifesaving but financially draining. With this transplant, it is estimated to cost from $100,000,000 to $150,000,000. Even with insurance, Javier is facing very high expenses including post-transplant medications, copays, lab fees and more.
To help with the financial burden of Javier’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Northwest Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please, consider a contribution.

Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, support, and generosity. Keep an eye on this campaign page because we will be planning some fundraising events soon and posting updates regularly.
With sincere gratitude,
Erin Lish (Javier’s stepdaughter)
