In 2011, as many of you may remember, our friend Nichole McDaniel was the victim of a serious and life-altering auto accident. On that afternoon in 2011, as Nichole was leaving work, she was rear-ended by another driver who was texting on her cell phone. Nichole suffered a T-12 spinal cord injury and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Nichole spent nearly a year in the hospital undergoing physical therapy, and recovering from a broken back and ribs.
Prior to her accident, Nichole spent over 20 years working as a claims adjuster in the insurance industry. Nichole has been unable to work since her injuries, and she is in desperate need of more physical therapy. Nichole enjoys spending time with her son and would love to do more activities with him again. Through her faith and courage she knows that all things are possible. More than ever, she would like to return to work, but she needs to overcome many physical obstacles prior to returning to her job.
Nichole has been in touch with “Project Walk”, a spinal cord injury rehabilitation and recovery program, and feels this program will help her to overcome many of her physical obstacles. Unfortunately, due to her limited health insurance benefits, Nichole’s physical therapy is no longer covered, and her out of-pocket-medical expenses are too much for her to handle on her own. Her resources are running low, and she can no longer pay for her therapy. Nichole also has daily expenses such as medication fees, co-pays and deductibles, transportation and expensive equipment costs. Nichole still uses a walker and a wheelchair daily — her goal is to one day walk without any assistive equipment. Nichole is a very determined woman and dedicated to achieving her goals!
To help offset such expenses, a fundraising campaign in Nichole’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Central Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for injury-related expenses only.
Thank you ahead of time for your generosity, prayers and support in helping Nichole to walk again!
Gratefully,
