Hello, my name is Patsy Dorsett and I am from Lavon, TX. I was born with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), a horrible disease that attacked my kidneys and my life. When I was only nine days old I had my right kidney removed. PKD is a genetic disease which never skips a generation and for which there is no cure. Currently, I am on dialysis three days a week – four hours per day. My only chance at a healthy life is to have a kidney transplant and I need the help of my community to make this happen.
I have started the transplant evaluation process which is an arduous, oppressive and a difficult journey. It is also draining from a physical, spiritual and financial perspective. Even with insurance, I will have many uninsured transplant-related expense such as: co-pays and deductibles, doctor visits, travel to and from the transplant center and the costly anti-rejection medications that I will need to take for the rest of my life.
To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in my honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the South-Central Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution today and click the DONATE NOW button.
Your support is critical to the overall success of my struggle. Please know that your contribution does count. My family and I thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
Thank you,
Patsy Dorsett
Love ya Patsy! Good luck!
