Family and friends of Janell Riley are raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.

Janell has chosen to fundraise with HelpHOPELive in part because HelpHOPELive assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. Janell is running into a brick wall on finding a kidney. She will not give up, but needs help with finances to support her efforts on traveling to other regions to get listed. She has been told that due to transfusions that she has had during back surgeries, that she has built up 84% of antibodies that will fight off all but 16% of kidneys that could originally be a match for her. This is why her son, Miles no longer is a match to his Mother. She got some hope when getting listed in Madison, WI, due to a trial drug that is working on lowering patients antibodies. Unfortunately, the trial medication cost $3000 per week, and she would need the trial treatment every week for the rest of her life. Due to the medication being a trial, and hasn't been approved by the FDA for ESRD treatment, her insurance will not pay for it. Janell also has an odd antigen line up, or genetic make-up. Of the 6 antigens that need to match, one or more for the best result, Janell only has 4, due to her parents both carrying 2 of the same antigens, and Janell got both. Just another little fluke.

Janell has been guided by Surgeons, that her best chance is to list in every region she can. Janell is ready, willing and still positive enough to do just that. The only way to afford such a trip, with gas, travel expenses, co-pays at each center, and an Used RV for ease of doing dialysis, and napping along the way is beyond what Janell can afford on SS Disability.

Janell is a true inspiration to friends, family, and her medical staff. She stays positive and can still laugh and joke about life, and how funny it all is.

Please help by donating to her cause, being tested, or running a fundraiser with the help of Help Hope Live.

Anyone who knows Janell, is aware of her giving heart, and would appreciate giving back to her cause now.
