MacKenzie Clare
HelpHOPELive South-Atlantic Spinal Cord Injury Fund

MacKenzie Clare and her family would like to thank HelpHOPELive for their services in helping their family and many others like them fundraise for non-covered medical items. The extra costs incurred by people dealing with transplants or Catastrophic Injuries can be daunting!

There is ALWAYS something that MacKenzie is going to need in her future. Right now (actually as of last week), we found out that the new wheelchair we are trying to get for her because her’s is old and falling apart has “mostly” been approved by our Insurance Company. Unfortunately though, the “titanium frame” has been denied because they feel it’s not medically necessary! To avoid her straining herself when pushing herself on hills and especially lifting it in and our of her car, it IS “medically necessary” to us anyway.

We are currently starting to fundraise again for MacKenzie. The FES (Functional Stimulation Bike) that we were able to purchase for her 10 years ago through HelpHopeLive is now in need of an upgrade. A new FES bike will cost $15,500, an upgrade…..$11,500.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you and enjoy your day!

I hope that my Canadian friends are doing well!! My mother-in-law is a nurse case manager in Nova Scotia. Let me know if you want info regarding the healthcare? Morgan said, "to say Hello to MacKenzie." All the best, Brenda Acham

Thank you Karen Triplett & River Creek Golf Community for the awesome fundraiser this past August. The money raised from that fundraiser alone will pay for more than 1/2 of the elevator we had to install so that MacKenzie could get throughout our home without assistance! Thank you so much!!!
