Please Help Make a Difference in Rose’s Life

Rose is a strong and courageous woman, a single mother who has a 25 year old son. She has lived with medical issues all her life, beginning with seizures from an early age. In 2003, she was diagnosed with kidney problems and began seeing a kidney specialist for monitoring. Her kidney function was stable for the next six and a half years. Then in July of 2009 Rose became sick and was hospitalized with end stage renal disease. Her kidneys had failed due to an infection in her body. She started dialysis treatments immediately in the hospital to help her body fight the infection. Following two weeks in the hospital she was discharged and started dialysis at the center near her home. Dialysis helps Rose to maintain basic functions but it is very hard on the body and terribly time consuming. A kidney transplant is Rose’s best chance for survival and renewed health. Through all of this, Rose remains strong and courageous, with the love and support of friends and family.
