Stephanie Copeland
HelpHOPELive South-Atlantic Spinal Cord Injury Fund
Stephanie is an upbeat, east coast gal that always wears a smile on her face. Growing up, she played several sports, but traveling on an ASA fast-pitch softball team was her life until she was 18. This tough catcher, was a leader on and off of the field & she always encouraged her teammates to never give up & to “Leave it ALL on the field.” Her competitive side and positive attitude gained from playing sports are what she believes prepared her for the fight of a lifetime, on 4/14/04.

An almost fatal car accident sent her to the Medical Center of VA (MCV) with broken ribs, a punctured lung, minor head injury and a broken back. Her spinal cord was smashed at the T-10 level and the doctors gave her a “complete” diagnosis and she was told she would never walk again. Keeping her hope in God, she knew there had to be more out there.
