Aunt Eily here….Sorry to have been so lax about posting…life does get busy….I will try to do better.
Travman is making some great progress. He’s been home in Lodi with Mom & Dad since November. Thanks to everyone who helped modify the home to make it easier and safer for Travis! And to the Angels who provided the van! And to all who attended and supported the fundraiser at the fairgrounds! Your generosity is so appreciated, there is really no way to fully express our gratitude.
Trav is currently going down to Sci-Fit in Pleasanton a couple of times a week for intensive exercise/therapy. Expensive, but from all accounts one of the best things in the area he can do to help his recovery. Would certainly help if gas wasn’t so expensive…..
I’ll try to get some more pics posted soon…God Bless

Posted by Mom Debbie today on FB:”Expected today…..Travis will be off the ventilator for 24 hours…hopefully done for good! Plan is to move him today to the first floor Rehab center and start the REALLY heavy rehab and OT. PRAY PRAY PRAY that some mobility will gradually return. He will work hard….Travis has an unbelievable work ethic….he is excited to be able to work work work. He still needs the positive thoughts and prayers…..and visitors!!!!! Much more open visiting hours, best in afternoon and evening!! His time in his wheelchair will increase as his wound heals….plan is 2 hours this morning and 2 hours in afternoon/evening. He will be home before we know it….if things continue to progress as the Drs say they have….maybe within 3-5 weeks. So…..back to work today I go…..Phil Monday. In the meantime, changes will have to be made to get ready for his arrival….here we go!!”
From me (Aunt Eily): I am so proud of my nephew Travis! Jessica and I were able to spend some time up in the area with him last week, before Deb & Phil got back. He is working so hard and keeping such an upbeat attitude! The staff in the Trauma Rehab there at Santa Clara is great – I was really impressed all around! No doubt in my mind that he is now at the right place!
Many thanks to everyone who keeps coming to visit and otherwise support him! Check out Travis’ new website, www.Travman6.com! Also, check out all the photos I just uploaded here!

Travis arrived in California yesterday afternoon. He’s settled in now, REALLY happy to be in Santa Clara – says much better than NOLA hospital!
9-24-2011
It has been a difficult, long, and eventful week! But the good news is – Travis is finally coming home to California for his rehab! He will be flown Monday out to The Rehabilitation Center at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in the San Jose Area! One of just a handful of centers in the US that will actually take a vent-dependent patient and begin his rehab! Will be only a couple of hours away from Mom & Dad’s in Lodi CA where he grew up! We are all so excited and cannot even BEGIN to thank all of you that have been helping him through your love, prayers, and financial support! God bless each and every one of you! “Aunt Eily”

Debbie says they changed Travis’ meds yesterday, and he was off the vent for 6 hours – it really wore him out. Up and down days – really need some good news! Appeal letter sent to Blue Cross yesterday, trying to get him to Santa Clara in CA. He really should be in rehab by now, and they have a specialized program there. Please keep the prayers (and donations!) coming!
9-6-2011
Debbie says Travis is having a hard time today – he’s not doing well weaning from the vent. Still trying to appeal with insurance to get him moved. She asks for continued prayers and good thoughts.

8-28-2011
Travis had surgery Saturday to place a trach and is resting more comfortably now. He has been accepted at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Trauma Rehab in CA, we are just waiting to find out if insurance will cover it and transportation. Keep the prayers going!

Here’s a Travis (TFA#6) update…all info from last night, haven’t connected with anyone yet today. Still on vent, but according to Mom Debbie they have him on the tetraplegic protocol to wean from it. He is doing well, working on his breathing. possibility they may take him off today, will have to see. PRAY that when they do he is able to sustain himself. They had him up in a chair most of the day. His friend Carson flew in to see him, really lifted his spirits! They have set up a white board with letters and a few basic words, and he’s using a laser pointer held between his teeth to communicate. (I think I can I guess some of what he might be saying!) Way to go Travis!!!!
8-20-2011
Hello all…an update on Travis…he is currently on a Bpap to help him breathe…as I understand it, his diaphragm is becoming fatigued, as the supporting abdominal muscles are some of those affected… the doctor is considering putting in a temporary trach to help him breathe. Please pray…for the doctor making this decision…..for Travis, for his strength….for God to fill him with His breath and support him. One thing at a time. Today, the ability to breathe. We love you Trav!
8-19-2011 AM update
Travis had a good night….They were able to remove his ET tube (breathing tube) at 4:55 am and he’s worked very hard since to get his oxygen level up. Go Travis!!!! Picture above is current this morning.

Surgery
Thursday 8-18-2011
Per Jason: Trav came through great. He’s sleeping now and had no complications. And he’s awake!….So they took out a piece of bone and made room so the spinal cord could swell. They used screws to stabilize his c4 c5 c6 and c7. They have him on a breathing tube as an extra precaution. Just in case his respiration drops below 12 a minute. Right now he’s at 14 Bpm so it’s all good. Sleepin good lookin forward to tomorrow

Travis! I am so happy to say we knew each other. You always brought your smile where ever you went and it was contagious to those around you. I have few memories from Freshman year at SM but I do remember you taking me to formal and dancing your butt off with me (unlike the other guys who just sat on the bleachers). You will always have my heart travis and I look forward in visiting you soon. xoxoxo
