Due to his poor health, Chris has been forced to stop working. Glenda is unable to work and must stay at home with him because of his medical condition. Because of complications, Chris can’t get the transplant in North Carolina. He is listed for transplant in Washington DC and this significantly increases the out-of-pocket medical expenses. Chris has to travel to and from Washington for testing and transplant and will have temporary living expenses for staying in Washington for six months post-transplant, and the very expensive anti-rejection medications. As friends, and acquaintances of the Whitworth family we can offer our help and prayers during this time. We can also help financially.
To help with Chris’ uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. For those who are able and would like to contribute:
With sincere gratitude,
Chris, Glenda, and Kristen Whitworth
