Denise’s Story
Denise Dade-Sample has lived in Philadelphia all her life. She loved to walk and to exercise. She ushers at her church as well as works in the church bookstore. Denise loves to share her experiences with her nieces and nephews.
Unfortunately, Denise is currently in need of a lung transplant. Denise was diagnosed with end-stage chronic obstruction pulmonary disease (COPD) that has caused life-threatening damage to her lungs. Because of this, she needs the help and prayers of family, friends, and the community.
Denise is on oxygen 24 hours a day and her only medical option is a lung transplant. She was evaluated at the University of Pennsylvania, and is now on the waiting list for a lung transplant for a better quality of life. Denise’s family and friends have the task of raising funds to assist with the monumental expenses needed for the surgery and after-care.
To assist her with these out-of-pocket expenses, a fundraising campaign in Denise’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF), a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Mid-Atlantic Lung Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution:Thank you for your prayers,
