Dear Friends, Family and Community,

My husband, Big Paul Schuesler is a 51 year old disabled Veteran who suffers from Congestive Heart Failure. Paul’s doctors at Brigham and Women’s Hospital have told us that he is in need of a life-saving heart transplant. Earlier this year, Paul was hospitalized for nearly three months. He was in a coma for most of the month of April and had to be revived four times because his heart stopped. Paul currently has a LVAD pump implanted to keep his blood moving through his heart until he receives this life-saving procedure.

Paul grew up around Boston and graduated from Madison Park High School. He is a loving husband, father, grandfather and good friend to many. He worked in retail for a few years and then joined the US Army. Paul’s family has a long history of military service with his father, brother, uncle, two children and other family member’s serving in four of the five Armed Services. After leaving the Army with a medical discharge, Paul studied at Wentworth Institute of Technology and started a career in the computer field. Due to his poor health, Paul is no longer able to work or do many things we all take for granted.
