As many of you know, Ed became ill in January of this year and was diagnosed with cirrhosis and liver cancer. His medical condition has reached the point where his doctors have told him that his only chance at a healthy life is to have a liver transplant. Transplants are life-saving, but very expensive.
Even with insurance, Ed will have many uninsured transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, continued doctor visits, travel and temporary relocation to be near the transplant center and the costly anti-rejection medications that he will need to take for the rest of his life.
To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Ed’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southwest Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a donation today and click the DONATE NOW button or call 800.642.8399.
No donation is too small – it all adds up to help Ed get his second chance at life – a liver transplant. Thank you for your support and prayers! God Bless!

Eddie is now officially on the transplant list. He has a minimum waiting period of 6 months before he can actually have a transplant done. Also he will be going to L.A. for another round of chemo on November 16, 2015. This is because the tumor has grown a little and they want to keep on top of it. Thank you everybody for all the continual prayers. Much love!
My Dad will be going in for a couple of more tests on Thursday September 24. He needs a left heart catheterization and another colonoscopy and CMV IgM. Please keep him in your prayers and thank you to all of you have continued to pray for him and our family. -Andrea
June 22 he will start the process at UCLA Ronald Reagan for his liver transplant. His caregivers and himself will need to stay out there for meetings and testing for a few days.
Yesterday was Ed's appointment with his interventional radiologist. He is the surgeon who deals with his chemo. Well he had some great news! He said it looks like the chemo he shot into has tumor seemed to work well and he wont need more chemo right now, so he will recheck in 2 months. Cancer can come back. His exact words were "Thank God", he was surprised it only took one treatment. Praise God!!!!! So now he has to prepare for transplant because his liver is cirrhotic. We know with all your prayers and words of encouragement Ed will get through this too. We thank God for all of your prayers and please continue to keep him in prayer. God is Good!
Ed had his first round of chemotherapy on April 9th and is starting to feel better with each passing day. Thank you for all your support and continued prayers!
