Help Charlotte Get A New Service Dog!

Charlotte is in need of a balance/mobility service dog so her current service dog, Miss Anna can retire and become a best friend instead of a working dog. Charlotte has a variety of health problems, but Degenerative Disc Disease and Fibromyalgia have left her with severe motor function and balance issues leaving her increasingly wheel chair dependent. To remain at home and independent, Charlotte desperately needs a trained mobility service dog large enough to assist her.

Anna, my service dog and constant companion, spent three weeks in the hospital with me including a week in the middle at an acute rehab facility.

On either side I had two survive two emergency hand surgeries. My hand was so infected that before the surgery, the surgeon was worried I might lose my hand.

I cannot handle anesthesia and so my hospital doctor convinced the surgeon to perform the surgery under a nerve block. Throughout the first surgery, I kept reminding myself that I was having the surgery for Anna.

I was responsible for having the surgery in order to care for her. Also if her vet told me she needed surgery, I would agree immediately. If Anna can handle surgery, so can I. All of this and Anna still made sure to take care of me!

I am sorry it has been so long since I posted. Just before Christmas, I developed an infection in my right, dominant hand. It quickly went from bad to worse. Over three weeks, Anna and I spent the first eight days in the hospital for the first surgery. We were then sent to a rehab facility. Unfortunately, the new tissue became necrotic forcing Anna and I to return to the hospital for a second surgery. With my left hand all ready barely functioning, it has been impossible to do the simplest of things. Initially, I could not even unbuckle Anna's packs much less put them on her. I am still having to learn to write again, putting a key into a lock is near impossible, I cannot zipper anything such as Anna's rain coat. It is if I have become a four year old again. I will be posting some other pictures of Anna in the hospital, but typing is still a challenge. So please forgive me for my lack of updates.

Please send healing energy our way! Thank you for your support!

God bless you. I will post & ask friends to repost. I had dogs all my life & they are the best friends you can have. I wish more people would take time to learn from them.
