Valerie is a Christian woman devoted to God, and one of the kindest people you will ever hope to meet. She has spent her life working hard to raise her family, helping others, and has devoted her time and energy to her faith in God and her church. Despite her illness, Valerie obtained a degree in Business Administration this past June, despite numerous setbacks, hospitalizations and medical complications along the way. More than ever, Valerie’s prayer is to enjoy her life and be able to spend more time with her children and loving grandchildren. Her goal is to be well enough to continue her education and eventually obtain her bachelor’s degree. But Valerie needs your help!
Transplants are lifesaving but very expensive. While Valerie waits for her transplant, she undergoes extensive medical testing and medical appointments to ensure she remains on the active transplant list at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Her out-of-pocket medical expenses continue to rise, which include co-pays and deductibles, health insurance premiums, travel and meals fees, and transportation expenses. Valerie will also be required to take costly post-transplant, anti-rejection medications that she will need for the rest of her life. These expenses are expected to be well over $10,000 and Valerie urgently needs your financial support to help cover the costs associated with her upcoming kidney transplant. Valerie desperately needs your help.
Thank you in advance for your prayers, support and generosity. Your support is critical to the overall success of Valerie’s struggle.
Gratefully,
Khalilah Ponder, Valerie’s loving daughter
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY VALERIE! Valerie's one-year anniversary date of her kidney transplant is coming up on August 25th, 2016. Aside from fatigue, swelling and still adjusting to her post-transplant medications, Valerie is finally on her way to a new life and brighter future. Valerie has been in the hospital numerous times and is scheduled for her one year post transplant biopsy to check for rejection. Still unable to work, her out-of-pocket medical expenses continue to rise and Valerie needs your support!
Valerie is doing well after her kidney transplant, but she is still in desperate need of your financial support! Post-transplant anti-rejection medications, specifically Prograf, are costing Valerie hundreds of dollars each month. She is still out of work while she recovers from her surgery and adjusts to her numerous medications and regimen of anti-rejection drugs. Please keep Valerie in your thoughts and prayers, and most important please consider a donation to help with her expenses after her transplant. She is still in need of your support after her surgery and is reaching out for your help during this critical stage of the transplant process. Any donation, no matter how big or how small, is one step closer to a brighter future for Valerie!
