Valerie Thomas was diagnosed with a severe and uncontrolled type of high-blood-pressure, or hypertension. Her medical condition led to significant complications, and as a result, Valerie was diagnosed with complete kidney failure, or end-stage-renal-disease.Valerie now undergoes lengthy and time consuming dialysis treatments, and a lifesaving kidney transplant is her only real hope for survival. Without a kidney transplant, Valerie will continue on dialysis; but she can only undergo this treatment temporarily — without a transplant, Valerie’s time will eventually run out.

Valerie is a Christian woman devoted to God, and one of the kindest people you will ever hope to meet. She has spent her life working hard to raise her family, helping others, and has devoted her time and energy to her faith in God and her church. Despite her illness, Valerie obtained a degree in Business Administration this past June, despite numerous setbacks, hospitalizations and medical complications along the way. More than ever, Valerie’s prayer is to enjoy her life and be able to spend more time with her children and loving grandchildren. Her goal is to be well enough to continue her education and eventually obtain her bachelor’s degree. But Valerie needs your help!

Valerie is doing well after her kidney transplant, but she is still in desperate need of your financial support! Post-transplant anti-rejection medications, specifically Prograf, are costing Valerie hundreds of dollars each month. She is still out of work while she recovers from her surgery and adjusts to her numerous medications and regimen of anti-rejection drugs. Please keep Valerie in your thoughts and prayers, and most important please consider a donation to help with her expenses after her transplant. She is still in need of your support after her surgery and is reaching out for your help during this critical stage of the transplant process. Any donation, no matter how big or how small, is one step closer to a brighter future for Valerie!
