My mother, Lingling Wu, is a 70-year-old woman who is very ill. After years of struggling with kidney disease from unknown causes, a kidney transplant is her only hope for survival. Lingling is one of the kindest people you’d ever hope to meet and she needs our help. The cost of a transplant can be overwhelming.
Lingling grew up in Nanjing, China and graduated from Soochow University in China. She became a middle school teacher after college and had taught for more than 30 years before her retirement in 2004. Lingling always enjoyed meeting and helping new friends, but with her disease, it is getting harder and harder for her. Together, Lingling and her family are committed to seeing her through this transplant.
Transplants are lifesaving but financially draining. Even with insurance, Lingling is facing very high expenses including a lifetime of post-transplant medications of up to $1,000 a month, co-pays, lab fees and more.
To help with the financial burden of Lingling’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Midwest/West Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please, consider a contribution.

Thank you for your prayers, support and generosity. Keep an eye on this campaign page for Lingling because we will be planning some fundraising events soon and posting updates regularly.
Gratefully,
Jen Pu, Lingling’s daughter
