Jeff suffered a critical C-7 spinal cord injury following a motorcycle accident on March 29, 2015. He is now a quadriplegic with no use of his legs and only has use of one arm. Jeff has been in the hospital and rehabilitation hospital for the last 91 days. Jeff’s home had to be completely modified before he returned home and we are now in the process of building a handicapped bathroom for him as none of the current bathrooms are accessible.
Jeff has a great girlfriend, Carrie, who has been a complete angel through all of this; we are so blessed to have her with us. She has amazed the nursing staff and all those around her with her support and knowledge of how to care for Jeff. While Carrie works full time, Jeff’s children, along with Carrie kids are with Jeff during the day to assist him with his manual wheel chair as this is not something he can do on his own. Fortunately, a power chair is on order, but it will not be here for two to four months.
Through all of this, Jeff has maintained a very positive attitude and is very anxious to return to work and lead a very productive life in the community with the support of his family and friends Even with insurance Jeff will have many uninsured injury-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, doctor visits, rehabilitation therapy, home modifications, and perhaps one day, an accessible van.
To help with the financial burden of Jeff’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than thirty years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southwest Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPElive for injury-related expenses only. Thank you for any help you can offer — it will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Chris and Kari Lambie,
Jeff’s Sister and Brother-in-law

Well we are into this for a little over one year and just finding things that are a stretch for Jeff. He works from home thank goodness but is having trouble with his windows as he cannot unlock and open them the way they are right now. Getting quotes so he an use an old fashion crank system versus lifting up. Getting ready for a surgery to move his catheter and his kidneys are hanging in there. Wish us well as Carrie is going on an eight day camping trip so we will experience other care for those days. Prayers and good wishes are needed. Thanks to all who have helped.
Jeff gets his new van on Friday will post new pics.
Jeff is doing great adjusting to his power chair and doing wellwith work. He got his Denali filter removed last week and has done done great. Carrie is such a great help.
Great news Jeff proposed to Carrie over the weekend and she accepted!!!!!! The bathroom is coming along slowly hopefully not much longer. Getting ready when the kids go back to school so we got him a small microwave and a portable ice maker on his desk so he can fix his own lunch and get his own drinks during the day. Thanks to Tyler for helping set these up and help his Dad with the network. Nicole has been a great help on the days that she has been there. There is still alot he cannot do for himself but he is trying and getting better daily.
Jeff now has a loaner chair from NuMotion and is being taken care of by his children as well as Carrie's children. He is trying to get back into work.
Why is this still up?

Jeff, I shared your story with my family. Clearly, we cannot begin to understand what you are going through, but we wish strength and courage to you and to all around you throughout this difficult transition. You are in our thoughts.
