Rob Needs Our Help!!

My husband, Robert Clark, is just 47-years-old yet he has been diagnosed with an extremely rare disease of the nervous system called Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS). To describe what Rob’s body is doing is not easy. On an average day it would be as if you woke up and strapped a 10-pound weight to your neck, one on each wrist, and each ankle. Carry that around all day and that would give you some idea. This condition is characterized by extreme rigidity and stiffness in muscles that can become so rigid they can break bones while just sitting in a chair. His condition is progressing and now loud sounds or sudden movements can stiffen his body. At times, he has actually fallen over like a tree being cut down. A hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) is his best hope to halt this horrible disease.
