Our loving mother, Shoua Vang is only 43 years-old and was diagnosed with end-stage-renal disease as a result of high blood pressure. Dialysis treatments were her way of life for many years, and she struggled with her health daily. After extensive medical testing, Shoua was finally placed on the active kidney transplant list at Hennepin County Medical Center, and after patiently waiting for many months, finally received the telephone call that would save her life. On June 10th, 2015 my mother, Shoua was blessed with the gift of life through a lifesaving donor kidney transplant.

Shoua is recovering from her surgery and hopes to remain free from organ rejection. As one of the most kind-hearted and hardworking people you will hope to meet, Shoua is reaching out because she desperately needs your help.Transplants are lifesaving, but the costs to fund this type of surgery are overwhelming to both Shoua and our family, and we cannot do it alone.

As a single mother to young children, Shoua provided for all of us and worked very hard for decades. Even through dialysis treatment, Shoua was committed to our family and her career, and never complained or gave into her poor health. She worked endless hours in an assembly-line job and both physically and emotionally persevered through hard times. She has proven to overcome many difficulties with her kidney failure over the past four years – our mother Shoua is a fighter!
