Hi everyone! It’s Alyssa here. I just wanted to post an update to let all my amazing supporters know what’s been going on recently and where I’m at in life.

Around this time last year I was struggling very much mentally. Due to this I relapsed with an eating disorder, something I’ve struggled with since I was 14 years old. I received treatment inpatient 2 times, the most recent being this past August. Since then I’ve been doing really well with my ED. I was lucky and while inpatient for my ED encountered an amazing therapist and I was even more lucky when that same therapist offered to see me in his outpatient clinic. So right now I’m going to individual talk therapy once a week, seeing a psychiatrist once a month, and maintaining my mental health by taking several medications for it.

In terms of my physical health: my lung function is stable at 63%. I am pretty deconditioned though and will be starting pulmonary rehab. I will also be getting physical therapy at some point in the very near future for my serious back pain. In terms of pain I have the diagnoses of chronic pain syndrome, arthritis, chronic migraines (4 types) and fibromyalgia. I also recently was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and I definitely have another sleep disorder that we’re currently trying to diagnosis. In terms of the chronic pain I am currently on a very strict pain management regimen and have been on some type of pain management regimen since 2014. As of last month though I am weening off my pain meds. It’s a huge, scary and literally painful time, but I don’t want to be on pain meds anymore or for the rest of my life so it was time for this decision to be made. I will be honest that it is my goal to be pain med free by August 18′ and instead using edibles to help not only my pain but my mental health issues as well which include but are not limited to depression and PTSD. I have my doctors support both mental and physical health doctors, so hopefully we can make this happen in 2018.

So that’s what’s going on currently. I will actually update again in several days because I have some appointments in the next several days and will update after them.

Thank you EVERYONE for your continued support and love. I am so grateful for my friends and family. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world often, due to the great people I have supporting me. Once again, thank you all, I love you all <3

Hi all, it’s been a LONG time. Alyssa’s lungs are in good health but she continues to suffer with other problems. She is dealing with severe chronic pain from arthritis, gastroparesis and fibromyalgia. She is continuing to battle her eating disorder and is in the process of being diagnosed with a sleep disorder. She has good days and bad and appreciates everyone’s continued support.
