Kelli Davis
HelpHOPELive South-Central Stem Cell Transplant Fund

As most of you know, Kelli, while 5 months pregnant with Danika, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). That was in 1996 – on her 32nd birthday. Over the years, her slight limp progressed to a stagger, she then required a cane for support, and now requires a wheelchair. However, the inability to walk is only a small part of the disease. One of the most difficult aspects of MS is the chronic fatigue. Kelli wakes up in the morning exhausted, and goes downhill from there. Her days are long.

This spring an article appeared in our local paper, relating the story of two men who had MS and went searching the Internet for help with their disease. They found numerous countries that did stem cell treatments, but none in the U.S. Preston, from Ft. Worth, and Richard, retired, found hope at a clinic in Costa Rica. They went to the clinic in May and the improvement in their health since treatment has been unbelievable. Both men now walk normally, ride bikes daily and play golf every chance they get. Both are no longer heat-intolerant and no longer suffer chronic fatigue. They take the attitude that while they still have MS, this treatment has halted the progression of the disease, with no need for medications. Since the men have returned and shared their story with others, over 20 other MS patients from this area have gone to Costa Rica for stem cell therapy. All but two have experienced significant improvement.
