Teddy Drigger’s life was forever changed when he was diagnosed with stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease last year. He is now awaiting a kidney transplant and will be beginning dialysis soon. Transplants are life saving, but they become very expensive very quickly. As Teddy goes through this process, he needs our help and support.
You may know Teddy from MUSC where he has been a dedicated electrician for many years. Or maybe you know him from the Mason’s lodge, where he is a proud member. Or perhaps you know him from Middleton High School, where he graduated. You might even know him through his wife, Vickie. However you know him, if you know him, you know that he has one of the biggest hearts ever and that he has always been a helper, and a giver to anyone that needed it. Now we have an opportunity to give back to him and get him on the road back to health.
Teddy is so thankful to have health insurance through his job; however insurance will not cover a lot of the costs that are already mounting. Some of these costs include co-pays, medications, lab fees, etc. It is becoming a struggle to make ends meet aside from medical costs, as Teddy has been forced to stop working. One of the major side effects of kidney disease is extreme fatigue and weakness. Teddy’s job was very physically demanding and he had no choice but to listen to his body.
To help with the financial burden of Teddy’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution.
Thank you for your prayers, support, & generosity. Please know that your contribution counts.
Gratefully,
Holly Martin, Teddy’s step-daughter
