Hi, my name is David Lescault. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 15. I have lived with this disease for the past 10 years and have suffered many complications. I was told by my Doctor that if I did not receive a pancreas transplant within the next few years, I will develop kidney failure and may not survive beyond middle age. I was listed on the pancreas transplant list on June 19th, 2015. I am currently waiting for the call; it could be any day now. It is a very expensive surgery and even though I do have health insurance, for which I am grateful, I need help covering the cost of my insurance deductible and out of pocket maximums, as well as money for lodging (the transplant center is in Indianapolis, IN). I will have to stay there for a few months. I will also need assistance to pay my bills because I will not be able to work for 3 months after surgery. Thank you so much in advance for reading this and considering a donation. I thank God for opening the doors for this surgery and trust him to make a way financially. God bless you!
