Dorsey Morgan is a 52-year-old who dreamed of the path his life would take, but in reality he knew it was only a dream. After many years of falling repeatedly, hands shaking, the inability to control his bladder, to walk straight or even walk for very long, he was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS), which is the more rare form of MS. Recently he learned he qualified for a hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT)! Dorsey will have his own stem cells removed, go through chemotherapy, and then have those same stem cells implanted back into his body. This gives him great hope but the transplant is expensive and insurance does not cover the cost.
Dorsey, who grew up in Osceola, AR, drove a truck for 25 years, was an avid motorcycle enthusiast,Loves the Arkansas Razorbacks, enjoys Nascar, and loves spending time with family. He never meets a stranger, loves to talk and to joke around. He used to keep a smile on his face, but that had changed since being diagnosed with PPMS. However after so many years, Dorsey can dream again – of the day when he is able to return to life, to work, and to better health. HSCT will help fulfill Dorsey’s dream of walking down the aisle on the day he weds his fiancee, Judy.
Transplants are lifesaving, but can be financially draining. Dorsey and his caregiver will need to travel to the center for the transplant and there is the cost of lodging for both, the procedure itself and post-transplant medications are extraordinarily expensive. To help with this financial burden a fundraising campaign in Dorsey’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Stem Cell Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for illness-related expenses only. Please, consider a contribution.

If we all work together we can make Dorsey’s prospects for the future much brighter. Please know that your contribution counts. Thank you in advance for your kind consideration.
With sincere gratitude,
Dorsey’s loving family-
