On June 6th, my son, K.C.Ray Henthorn suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury following a devastating motorcycle accident. Now paralyzed with no use from his belly down, K.C.Ray is working very hard at the Health South Rehab Facility in Albuquerque. He is determined to make as much progress and improvement as possible.
K.C.Ray is a very determined and optimistic person. He earned a B.A. Degree in Finance from the University of New Mexico, and plans to continue his education and obtain a Master’s Degree. Although he has suffered this life-changing injury, he is meeting this challenge with unbelievable strength and courage. He is an inspiration to us all. He knows that it will require a lot of hard work, persistence, and that he will have setbacks along the way. He looks forward to returning to a productive and full life and becoming an active member of the community again.
As you can imagine we are facing expenses that no family is prepared for. Even with insurance, there are many expenses that must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are home modifications, vehicle modifications, adaptive equipment, co-pays and deductibles. In addition, K.C.Ray is also planning to enter an intense rehabilitative therapy program that will strengthen his body and help him regain some additional functions in his legs.
To help with the financial burden of K.C.Ray’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southwest Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELove for injury-related expenses only. On behalf of K.C. Ray and our family, thank you for your kindness, generosity and support.

I've shared your story with all of my friends and I hope these donations just start flooding your way. God bless.
