My nightmare started in 2012, when I was 31 years old, married with four children and one on the way. One day I suddenly passed out two times. After tests, I was shocked to find that I had leukemia. This was followed by months of pain, fear, and financial uncertainty as I fought the cancer. Unable to handle the situation, my wife walked out on me and our children, leaving me to provide for them on my own in a weakened condition.
For 19 months I was in remission, working and providing for my family. Then the cancer came roaring back. This time, I needed a stem cell transplant and thankfully, my brother Lawrence was a match for me and the transplant took place in May, 2014. At this point, I am still battling the leukemia and am in and out of the hospital. I will never stop fighting.
At this point, my children are being cared for by my 70 year old grandmother. I can’t provide for them at the same time that I’m paying hospital bills, doctors’ bills, pharmacy bills and more. That is why I’m reaching out to you.

It is so hard for me to ask for help. Please know that if God sees me through this fight, as soon as I am strong and able, I will pay it forward and help others who are hurting and in need.
