Renee Moyer is a 58-year-old outpatient of Temple University Hospital and is in need of a heart transplant. She suffered a massive heart attack in March, 2014 which has badly damaged the left side of her heart. Renee now lives with the assistance of a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD pump). This device is only a temporary answer until a heart is available from a donor; a heart transplant is Renee’s only hope for survival.
Renee is a widow, mother of 4 adult children and grandmother of five. She is the kindest person you’d ever hope to meet. Prior to her massive heart attack, Renee was a full-time employee at Quest Diagnostics serving as a billing representative in the Norristown office. She is a member of New Hanover Methodist Church in Gilbertsville, PA serving on the “Welcoming Committee”. She also served as a board member of “Women’s Bridge Resource Center” which helps women in crisis.
The cost of a heart transplant can be overwhelming. Transplants are lifesaving but financially draining. Even with insurance, Renee is facing very high expenses including post-transplant medications she will need to take for the rest of her life, co-pays, lab fees and more. Renee needs our help.
To help with the financial burden of Renee’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Mid-Atlantic Heart Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.

With your help, Renee is looking forward to becoming involved in the community again. She is also excited to be spending quality time with family and friends. Renee’s greatest joy is spending time with her grandchildren. If we all work together we can make Renee’s prospect for the future much brighter. Please know your contribution, small or big, makes a difference. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Gratefully,
Stephanie Landis (Renee’s caregiver)

On October 22 I celebrated my one year heart transplant anniversary with my son Chris and family. They made me a heart shape pizza and a heart shape cake with bright pink icing. We spent a lovely day together. Want to thank my donors family with out my new heart this all would not be possible.
Renee made her one year heart transplant mile stone on October 22-23 2017.
She celebrated by going to the beach in Cape May and took a carriage ride which was on her bucket list.
On October 22 I got the call. There was a heart for me. It was a very joyful but sad day. We all were very happy that I got the the call but sad for the family who lost it's family member. RIP you sweet soul.
It was not an easy process to go through for several mouths I was in and out of the hospital. I had gotten an infection in my incision area and chest cavity. It took two mouths to get better.
It is now September and I am doing better. I started cardiac therapy and finished up physical therapy. I still have a lot of doctor visits down in Philadelphia due to all the complications from the heart attack and transplant. But all in all I'm feeling better and looking forward to getting back to my life.
Sending healing hugs and many Prayers
Steph Landis
